I still had to drive to another state, so I had to rent a 2015 Hyundai Veloster for a week! Ordered new shocks for both L and R rear. The flange (ring?) that holds the bottom of the spring broke off on the passenger side.

That’s a sweet wagon. Good thing it broke before the trip rather than during it. Hopefully it gets back on the street soon.

Thanks! That’s right. It broke just pulling out of a driveway in town. And I was about to drive it from Cleveland to Detroit haha.

Faced with the choice of a Focus, Sentra, or Veloster, I chose the smallest one haha. Ok, it looks sportier too.

I always opt for the smallest rental car I can get. And it’s not just because it’s the cheapest! I figure every rental car sucks so I might as well at least have whatever the lightest weight car is so handling dynamics end up being fun in some way. I had a camry once and I could not understand why so many people like driving that boat.

Veloster = funny

I had a red one for five days, rented from National out of LAX. It was the only car in the Midsize line that wasn’t a gray Sentra, a white Accord, or a black... Kia something. I liked it - with the dual-clutch gearbox and paddles, you can keep it on the boil, which means 5th gear on the highway.

I’ll get around to doing a Rental Car Review at some point.

Also: I thought my Bimmer was rusty, but yours is worse. Are you planning on doing something about it or are you just driving it into the ground?
